• website-2026-09/: the first website design project (brief, moodboard, directions v1, brand narrative PDF), September 2026. Replaced by this design system; its brand substance and page copy moved to ../brand.md and ../content/.
• sor-brand-mockups/: the Seeds mockups from the former life-itself/sor-brand repo (Direction E, Ink and Paper, pages, YouTube). The system was extracted from these. Their original Claude artifacts are linked from sor-brand-STATUS.md.
• sor-brand-STATUS.md, sor-brand-README.md: the old repo's status page and readme, as of 2026-10-02.
• print-styles-2026-08/: the three brand-independent paper styles (Review, Essay, Brief) from pdf-report-publishing, August 2026, offered for review before papers moved to this system. The styles still exist in that repo for non-SoR documents.
• Loose HTML files: earlier YouTube directions and a thumbnail rough.
• print-mockups-2026-10.html: the HTML mockups of a paper approved on 8 October 2026 (design-34t.22), kept as the record behind ../print.md. The built paper changed some of it (spaced paragraphs, one running-head layout, figures bare on the page); the pages to copy are in ../examples/print/.
• logo-2026-10/: how the logo chosen on 13 October 2026 was made: the two working pages (Claude artifacts), the birds tried, the scripts that build system/logo/, and the earlier woodcut-swallow comparison (moved from examples/logo/). Not published.
• diagrams-*-2026-10.html: the diagram tryouts of 7–8 October 2026, kept as the record behind ../diagrams.md: the signature options on real figures (-signature), type candidates (-type), drawing styles compared (-style) and the first charts (-charts). Some show rejected options; the examples to copy are in ../examples/diagrams/.
• mountains-2026-10/: how the mountain elements were made, 12–13 October 2026: the working Claude artifact, the draft gallery, per-image cut-out notes and the 1934 sketch with its handwritten note. Not published.
• podcast-thumbnails-2026-10/: how the podcast thumbnail was arrived at (12–13 October 2026): the brief, versions A–D, sixteen backgrounds, the swallows versions, the Grove covers and the workshop page. Replaced by the swallows-and-fingerprints Canva kits. Not published.
